Joshua Miller

josh Joshua Miller is a Lecturer in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Morgan State University in Baltimore, MD, and the editor of The Good Society. He also writes at the anotherpanacea blog.

Dr. Miller’s primary research is on civic engagement and citizenship, especially in the work of Hannah Arendt, and he is currently writing on the social impact of mass incarceration, the general theory of remedies, the role of urbanization and the rhetoric of the city, and the possibility of providing a basic income guarantee for everyone in society. His most recent article, “Foresight, Epistemic Reliability, and the Systematic Underestimation of Risk,” (with Stephen Douglas Maloney) was published in The Good Society 18:2 (2009).

He is currently co-teaching Games and Game Design and Violence with Daniel Levine and in the past has taught Big Ideas, and a class on Hannah Arendt, Thinking Between Past and Future.
